Flight

Missed our flight, now flying out at 9ish thanks to Mrs Morris and some Easter charity. Some fantastic karma coming your way Anna.

Making the best of a bad situation, Ben recorded a new top score on doodle jump to the delight of Nic and Nick.

Hundy Free

Nic Cap is primed and ready to go in his 100 free tonight, swimming for some glory out of lane 5. He swam a comfortable heat this morning and has some improvements to make ahead of tonight's final.

Mitch Foss and Joel Simondson are now finished racing, congrats to both boys on a fantastic meet.

When asked how he felt in his last race, the 100 breaststroke, Mitch replied "I didn't feel too good in the last 25-75 metres."

- Nice specificity there Mitch. It can only be assumed that the first 25 felt pretty awesome.

Day 3

Day 3 at nationals has dawned with T-man competing in his 400 free in about an hour.

Looking to finals, both the boys 14years 4x50 medley and the boys 4x100 16years free relays are gearing up to fire.

Both cars almost left without Mitch this morning, the assumption being that he had sleep-walked to another suburb.

Finals

First night of finals is complete, and Joel made us proud in his 200m Back, finishing 4th Australian with a resounding PB.

Hopefully his teammates took notice of what is achievable when race plans are carried out.

The relay team blew out some cobwebs and posted decent individual times, before a late roast dinner and some well deserved ice-cream.

Nic Cap will be looking for some redemption in his 200 IM tomorrow- he is Bayside's one and only swim for the day.

Ewan David Barnes

Here are a few photos of the baby very soon after the birth. He was 3.4kg (probably still is) and had all the requisite fingers and toes.
It has been noted that in the changing nappies competition that the father is leading at this point but it is likely the mother will hit her straps pretty soon...
The little bloke has a fair set of lungs on him and where it looked like the hair could be red initially, most are seeing more of a light brown shade.
Mum had 3 hours sleep last night yet still manged a smile this morning.

Thank you all for all of the best wishes. I have counted 123 texts so far. My phone lit up like a Christmas tree yesterday with the news. It was an experience that I will not soon forget BUT I did see things that I am in no hurry to see again...

I will try and organise a rendezvous for the little bloke at a session for all of you that want to see him. Will depend heavily on the boss and her thoughts on the matter.

Thanks again

Gus and Melissa
