Just to set some minds at ease, a recovery session isn't supposed to be easy. Recovery sessions aren't the easiest session you will do. Technique sessions are easier, but they won't do much to aid your recovery. A technique session needs to cycle between fast and slow and is also benefitted by multiple strokes.
Here's th kicker, you shouldn't get out of a recovery session feeling recovered. You should, however, feel better the next session than you would have if it was all just easy.
